Happy Saturday Dubliners! Boy have we got some juicy events for you today. We’ve got techno, we’ve got female EDM collectives, artisan food and drink fairs, comic fairs and pretty out there gigs. Here’s our top five events for the 12th October!
Nightcap x Mutate: Volvox
Get yourself down to Kaizens to listen to one of Brooklyn’s finest female techno artists. Be ready to cut shapes to some pretty bare-boned techno and groovy beats. Supporting her is Eliza from Gash Collective, a fantastic Irish collective that focuses on encouraging women and LGBTQ+ DJs and producers into electronic music, an area that is incredibly underrepresented by women.

2. Spirit of Dublin Food & Drink
Teeling Whiskey Distillery is putting on a fair for the best food and drink producers in the country to show off their artisanal and incredible quality products. These food and drink producers will be showcasing their wares for the day in the distillery, with a diverse range of both food and drink on offer. There will also be an area where you can watch delicious food and drink incorporating Teeling Whiskey being made.

3. Pink Clouds #1 Visual Art Show + Rave
Pink Clouds is a collective of artists, filmmakers and musicians based here in Dublin who are taking over Jaja Studios for a night of first-class live music, art and general mind popping creativity. Oh, and did we mention it’s BYOB? Yeah. So get yourself down to Jaja studios and support your local creatives.
When: 12th October, 5-11pm

4. Squarehead gig
Squarehead are a relatively new garage-pop band, formed in 2010, who don’t conform to one single genre and are always on the musical quest of exploration. Those who love them know them for their 1950’s-tinged bubblegum pop, space jam riffs and 1990’s alt-rock.

The Dublin Comic Arts Festival is an ongoing series of quarterly small press comic book events in Dublin. This event is the perfect place to discover new and small press comics in Ireland. Check this one out at the Chocolate Factory Arts Centre today or you’ll have to wait till December for the next one!
