THEATRE – Ulysses at The Abbey Theatre
Bloomsday Festival is starting today! As part as this annual festival celebrating James Joyce’s worldwide renowned novel Ulysses, The Abbey Theatre presents Ulysses, an original adaptation of the book with live music, puppets, dancing and more! And no need to have read the masterpiece; in fact, Dermot Bolger who adapted the novel in a play declared: “My ideal audience is people who always wanted to read the book but felt daunted. They may be surprised to find that it remains a book about themselves and people they know.”
Plus, tonight is the first preview and seatings are free! But watch out: tickets are distributed in a first come, first served basis and they give only one ticket per person. So come early, well before opening door time at 6:30 PM).
Besides, Bloomsday Festival is lasting all week long and offers a lot of events across the city to honour the Dublin-based novel. Check out the whole programme here.
