DOCUMENTARY SCREENING – Stories of Water (Historias de Agua)
Tonight, the Latin America Solidarity Centre and Casa Peru Ireland offer a documentary screening followed by a Q&A session. The documentary Stories of Water presents a reflection about the lack of water in Peru.
Of the 31 million people living in Peru today, over 3 million lack access to safe water. This documentary produced by the environmental network Red Muqui brings to the fore the human stories at the centre of this fateful paradox. The film provides evidence of the extreme vulnerability of water sources and ecosystems in Peru, showing how the pollution produced by mining impacts not only on the environment but on the lives who live in this ‘mining country’.
