Celebrating Cultures, Promoting Integration
1. Evening of concerts at Whelan’s
Do you love music but are indecisive of where to go today? Whelan’s make it easy for you. Today they bring us two musical offers: Blue Rose Code and exmagician will be playing at the same time but in different areas of Whelan’s.
Rich with emotion, Blue Rose Code is Ross Wilson, an Edinburgh native with an amazing, genre-defying music. As David Kushar of Spiral Earth says “Blue Rose Code is as slippery as an eel; a genre dodger; a mess of influences and contradictions. This rare display of soul and emotion will not be boxed, a sign of something special.” Today he will be presenting his new album at Whelan’s.
If you are feeling more in the mood to discover the musical reinvention that the team-up friends from exmagician have include in their new album, prepare to find the influences of the adventurous, psychedelic music from all eras Danny and James love.
Despite what you decide, just get this clear: you will have a perfect Thursday evening. Don’t miss this opportunity to see them live in their respective tour stops in Dublin!
Where: Blue Rose Code – Upstairs Whelan’s, exmagician – Whelan’s, 25 Wexford Street

2. KIN + Liam McCabe, Good Name Gigs
The Good Name Collective invite to a gig on Thursday with filmmakers KIN and musician and storyteller Liam McCabe.
KIN are makers of fillum and sharers of Freeney blood (AB in case of emergency). Let them present to you a “very special show of the live Tyndall Twins (in the skin) and the past Tyndall Twins (through the screen). A mesmerising show of past and present combine to create something that right now we would call future”.
And Liam McCabe “brings very real stories to real life in the real world reality. Combining beats, guitars, his angelic voice (oh so beautiful) and spoken word, he will surely convince you that he fell from the stars but fell too far and ended up inside the dirty, magma-filled earth. Hopefully he can crawl out of there before the show.”
They will also have spoken word from:
Rebecca (the loveliest bad girl with a microphone)
Alicia Byrne-Keane (ex-emo fighting for the team-o)
And Good Name DJ’s all night.
Where: The Bernard Shaw, 12 Richmond Street South, Dublin 8
Price: Free admission
