A man in his 20s has been killed in the Ronanstown area of Dublin last night.
Police were called following an incident around 3:10am this morning.
It is believed that the man was either attending or was in the vicinity of a bonfire across Neilstown Road at St Marks, before being chased by a number of people over into Liscarne Gardens where he was fatally assaulted.
There have been no arrests. The body has not yet been moved from the scene.
In a press release this morning, Gardaí appealed for anyone who was around the Neilstown Road/Liscarne Gardens/St Marks area between 1am and 3:30am last night to contact the Ronanstown Garda Station on 01-666-77-00, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or to call in at any garda station.
