2. Song Cycle at Whelans
Into its third year, Whelans Singer songwriter night Song Cycle continues to offer a platform for local and non local acts to experiment, sing and share in the friendly informal setting of Whelan’s front window. This night offers artists a fresh new stage to breath life into songs, experiment with ideas or simply just play for the sheer enjoyment of it.
The Format of Song Cycle has developed a little since moving downstairs earlier this year. Regular hosts Ollie Cole and John Byrne take part as well by performing some of their works in progress as well as old standards. Needless to say, an impromptu session is never too far away if some of their special guests feel like playing a song or two.
Song Cycle takes place in Whelans front bar every Monday, admission is free and all are welcome to play.
Tip: After the gig, Whelan’s DJ will be playing and we will be able to enjoy a late bar from 22:30
Where: Whelan’s, 25 Wexford Street, Dublin 2
Price: Free admission
